Yep, it’s that time of year again! Holiday season is here and if you haven’t already, now is a good time to start thinking about Christmas gifts, cards, decorations and stuff.

I know you like customized items, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this. So what about customizing also your gifts and cards this year? Do you remember the popular Graphic Theme that was provided by me and eSeth.net? Well, then you gonna love these! I designed a couple of products that suits perfectly with the Graphic theme (and there is also some iPhone cases, so you can enjoy the design even without a Symbian phone).

You can even customize the items with easy-to-use tools and order the products from the site to over 100 countries. Go to check them out and take a look at the other product as well!

I guess everyone knows the news by now about Nokia slowly abandoning Symbian. I admit, at first I was pretty angry about this and almost ready to quit the business. But even than I’m still disappointed, the truth is that Symbian is not going to vanish anywhere for couple of years at least and you guys deserve to get content to your Symbian phones, maybe now more than ever!

But all this was a good reminder that you should never “put all your eggs in one basket”…  Beside graphic design, I have always loved photography so I decided to try something new for a change and step in to the world of microstock photography (if you are unfamiliar with the concept, microstock is a service which is providing high quality, royalty free pictures for a very reasonable price).

This doesn’t mean that I stop making themes, in fact this could mean more mobile content in the future. Because microstock content also sometimes means great wallpapers for mobiles! And because of the news Nokia gave, I think it’s time to expand the content beyond Symbian. Unfortunately all mobile platforms doesn’t provide so great theming capabilities than Symbian, but almost all of them let you change the wallpaper. So for now on in addition for themes, I will be also releasing wallpapers in many sizes so they fit on mobiles with different resolutions. And let see, maybe there will be some desktop wallpapers as well in the future…

At the moment all this is in very early stage but I still wanted to let you know what’s happening. I have gathered the services where you can find my microstock photos on the pictures -section, so go on and take a look! I’m still figuring out the best technical way to provide the wallpapers so you have to wait a moment… In the meanwhile, if there’s some specific screen resolution you like to be included (in addition for the usual 240×320 and 360×640), leave a comment!

The site has broken some of the download links recently, usually this concerns larger files so custom icons versions of the themes are affected. If you find any broken links, please report them and I’ll fix the files.

Just a quick update… I know that actually majority of the visitors at Sauromatum.com aren’t native english speakers (including me) so I added a Google Translate tool for you guys. There’s 59 languages available and you can find the translate box at the top of the right sidebar. Hope you find it useful!

The site was under an attack and down for couple of days. I had to disable all the plugins, so things might look weird for a while. I’ll try to fix everything as soon as possible…

The big day is almost here!

The 3 Inch Canvas exhibition is a part of Helsinki Design Week and the exhibition grand opening is at Hub Helsinki, Finland on August 31, 2010 at 18:00. So take a friend with you and come to the opening to enjoy some unique art and maybe also meet the artists! Or of course you can visit later as well, the exhibition stays at Hub Helsinki until September 4.

…And if you can’t come to Hub Helsinki, don’t worry. Because after the Hub, the exhibition moves to Nokia Flagship Store on September 6 – September 11. But I give you more information about that later..

By the way, my new free theme will based on the art piece that is shown at the exhibition and it will be published on August 31 when also the grand opening is. So even if you can’t come to the exhibition, you can still be a part of the happening by downloading the theme

Update:  The theme is a little bit late but will be published soon… I’m just making little changes to the wallpaper so it will support different screen sizes. I’m really sorry for the delay.
